Phillies Pirates Preview

The Philadelphia Phillies will have their final homestand of the year against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This will be a four-game series that the Phillies need to win to take control of the National League East Division.

The Phillies are currently three games out of first place, the Braves hold that spot. The Phillies will send out Aaron Nola today 9/23, Kyle Gibson tomorrow 9/24, Ranger Saurez on Saturday 9/25, and they will have an opener go on Sunday 9/24.

Aaron Nola is back on track after his brilliant start in which he recorded nine strikeouts and only gave up one run. He needs to be great again tonight for the Phillies to stay in that race.

Bryce Harper should be the National League MVP. He made an incredible throw in yesterday's game to save the Phillies from the Orioles.

The Phillies need to capitalize now with their remaining opponents. The Phillies have primed themselves for a race to the finish for the National League East.

It is all in the Phillies' hands now and the supporting cast needs to support Harper. The Phillies have to sweep the Pirates and can not take this team lightly as they did to the Orioles.

The Pirates are a team that is sneaky and if you take them lightly they will pounce on you. The Phillies have a first-hand look at that as they almost got swept on the road in Pittsburgh. The Phillies need to be on their a game in this series and take advantage of the Pirates.
