Phillies, Dodgers, series preview

The Philadelphia Phillies will welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers for a three-game weekend series. The Phillies had great success against the Dodgers on the road in L. A, posting 38 runs in the four-game series win.

The Phillies are coming off of a Padres series where the offense went stone cold. Granite, the MV3 Bryce Harper was not in the lineup, but there is speculation that there could be a serious problem as he was supposed to play on Tuesday.

This is a series that the Phillies need to win. They have yet to get over .500 since beating the Athletics at the beginning of the season. This is concerning because this is the first time in team history that the Phillies have gone over the tax line to get a lot of offensive weapons.

The Phillies will rollout Ranger Suarez against Julio Urias on Friday, Aaron Nola will take on a starter to be named on Saturday, and Zach Eflin will take the rubber match of the series against Tony Gonsolin on Sunday.

This is a pretty big series for the Phillies because if they can take two of three games in this series they will have some momentum going into the Braves series following this series.

The Phillies hit starter Julio Urias well when they faced him last week. They posted 8 runs on him in his outing. Overall the offense needs to figure it out at home because it is vital that you can score at home and it will help your team stay hot or get hot.

The centerfield spot is an area that needs to pick it up ASAP. Both Roman Quinn and Odubel Herrera are not doing a good job at all. Kyle Schwarber has been struggling as well. Yes, he has 9 home runs and 21 Runs Batted In but hitting a buck eighty is just not good at all. This team is struggling to put runs together after a fantastic west coast trip.

This team needs to win this series by any means necessary. I don't care how they win the game, I just need them to win this series.

My player to watch in this series will be Johan Camargo. Camargo has been hitting the ball with authority this season and the defense has been incredible season. Look for him to get a hold of one or two in this series and help the Phillies win the series. You can catch the game on NBC Sports Philly or on radio 94.1 WIP. The game on Sunday will be on MLB Network.
