The Philadelphia Flyers played their second to last preseason game, yesterday against the New York Islanders.
The Flyers had a rough go of it early, as they went down 2-0 pretty quickly. All in all, it was just a bad effort by the flyers in the first period. The Isles capitalized on Flyers penalties, and the Flyers did nothing with their power plays.
The second a third periods were pretty much the same as the Flyers couldn't do anything against the Islanders. Granite, it is the preseason, so we won't see this group play a lot in the regular season.
Martin Jones got the start and he saved twenty-seven of the thirty shots he faced. Jones will need to play a huge role in the regular season as the backup goaltender for stater Carter Hart.
The Flyers will play their final preseason game against the Washington Capitals on October 8th.
